Last night fate deemed me worthy of being seated next to a hilarious, outdoorsy, brilliant conversationalist by the name of Dr. Derek Larsen. While I can’t speak to his chiropractic skills, I can tell you he was a delightful presence!

From the moment we boarded, Derek had me laughing with his witty anecdotes and charming humor. His stories about work, his dog, fishing, life in Juneau and his playful observations made the flight fly by. It’s no easy feat to make traveling jammed into economy feel like a stand-up comedy show.

While I’m not sure if he’s as skilled at adjusting spines as he is at brightening a day, I do know this: Derek’s company was the highlight of my flight. If you ever find yourself seated next to him, brace yourself for laughter. Who knows, maybe you'll get a great chiropractic consultation as a bonus!

Not all doctors have the ability to be as personable as Dr. Derek but as we all know, a doctor’s bedside manner can be just as important as their medical knowledge. It was wonderful to meet you Derek. I hope you have a great trip!

Absolutely fantastic. I went in somewhat skeptical, but needed something done about my post surgery, back pain. Surprisingly, in a few consistent visits, I am now feeling more mobile and active than I have in years. I totally recommend Happy Family. Dr Derek is accommodating, efficient, and friendly. I found Dr. Derek while on a cruise to Alaska. I had a slight rib dislocation that was very painful and made it difficult to enjoy the trip or the time with my family. Dr. Derek was able to see me while we were in port at Juneau. Since I was getting back on the ship that day without the possibility of a follow-up visit, he made sure I felt everything was in place after the treatment. After my visit, my back felt much better and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip pain free.

I started seeing Derek after about 10 years of chiropractic neglect and high intensity athletics. I was having lower back pain and occasional numbness/tingling in one leg. He put me on an intensive program for a short time, then began tapering off the frequency of adjustments after a month. The initial weekly adjustments helped relieve my symptoms, and now we’re adjusting quarterly for maintenance. I feel great and will hopefully remain injury free for some time!

I really appreciated the approach we took. Derek put together a custom plan for me and never tried to sell me on unnecessary adjustments or visits. He recognizes what the patient needs, and addresses it directly.
