Dr. Burkhart is an absolute life saver. After being diagnosed with celiac disease in February, 2019 at the age of 17, I wasn’t getting any better even 5 months after starting my very strict gluten free diet. Finally, my amazing mom found an integrative health doctor - Dr. Burkhart! - in Napa just an hour away from where I was living when I was at my sickest ever and felt mentally hopeless. After being turned away from multiple gastroenterologists who condescendingly told me I must be still eating gluten or prescribed me anti-nausea meds given to chemo patients, Dr Burkhart finally treated me as a person and took a holistic approach to my health. She diagnosed me with malabsorption and hydrogen-sulfide SIBO and has continued to support me and guide me through my life-changing disease. She is so empathetic, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and encouraging. I truly don’t know where I would be today without her, and I can not recommend her enough if you are looking for answers that no one else seems to be able to give you. My sister has since also become a patient of hers because of all the successes Dr Burkhart has helped me achieve. She’s the best and I am so thankful to call her my doctor!

After nearly a year of residual pain from a week's hospital stay and asking my gastroenterologist and primary care for nutritional guidance, I finally decided to seek answers outside of my immediate team of doctors. I found Dr. Burkhart online, was inspired by what I read on her website, and I made an appointment with the hopes that perhaps someone would be able to finally help me heal from this constant pain. My follow-up sessions with her over the last nearly two years have been invaluable. She continues to be completely thorough, utilizing her vast knowledge base and experience, and is concerned with the entire spectrum of my health, not just the issue that initially brought me to her door. She is well versed in the latest research, developments, and discoveries in healthcare and nutrition. She continues to monitor my care plan (making adjustments as needed), and more than any other doctor I have seen is concerned with the complete picture and treats me as an individual. I may have been the one who found her online, but I attribute Dr. Burkhart for finally helping my body heal. She truly cares.
