I love community acupuncture and I highly recommend checking them out. I moved farther away but still travel for them because there’s nowhere else this great.

I’ve finally found the best acupuncture practice I’ve ever been to in the city. I go here every Saturday morning and basically get privatized treatment while paying the community rate—that is how much they care about all their customers. Jenny is the best acupuncturist I’ve ever worked with because she personalizes every treatment and really gets to the root cause of all my pain. I leave every session feeling sore and tired but am free of all pain the day after—the best feeling ever! If she’s this caring for community-rate paying customers, I can only imagine how much more care she puts into private appointments. Besides the service, the facilities are pristine and well maintained.

In the past, I haven't had consistent access to acupuncture, largely because it's been cost prohibitive. Open Community Care makes this accessible at a sliding scale.

Prior to this new space opening, I had been going to Jenny Kim for two years for both acupuncture and cupping. When I first started receiving the care, my tendinitis was unbearable and I was in excruciating daily pain. I was unable to do any activities after a work day. Her approach has made all the difference! Not only has my tendinitis become manageable, my stress levels have decrease, my digestion has improved, and overall my quality of life and ability to show up both at work and socially is leaps and bounds better.

Within the field of practice, Jenny Kim is one of the most talented and phenomenal practitioners. She’s highly skilled, intuitive, and creates a comfortable environment to receive this important care. A community supported acupuncture center is an incredible resource for Brooklyn. Could not recommend highly enough!

Oh, and they also have a highly curated and thoughtful selection of herbs, tinctures, supplements, etc.

So grateful for this relatively new space that has made ongoing acupuncture within reach for me financially. I had an excellent intake session/initial acupuncture appointment with Jenny, who referred me to Rachel thinking I might be a good candidate for herbs. While I haven’t scheduled an herbal consultation yet, I’ve since had two acupuncture sessions with Rachel, whose warmth and expertise have already started to make a difference in my health. You can tell that there has been so much thought and consideration into making this space accessible to the community. Excited to continue my treatment here!

This was my first time trying acupuncture and I had to immediately post a review. Jenny (the owner) was my practitioner and she made me feel so comfortable and well informed of the whole process. I of course feel sore but as I was waking to the train I realized how straight my posture was for the first time in years! The space is calming and Covid safe which shows how much they truly care about the community!

i can’t say enough good things about open care community. i see alice once a week, and my husband sees jenny. i’m going for reproductive health and anxiety/mood. my husband goes for back issues. we both love our time at open care and look forward to appointments. if you’re worried about the community aspect of it, this feels intimate and private despite being one big room. this is the first community acupuncture i’ve been to where there are beds for lying down (as opposed to only chairs). everything is disinfected between clients so it feels clean and airy and comfortable. it’s just a great place and i’m so glad we found it.
