I have had alpha gal allergy for about 8 years and before I knew I had it, I wasn’t sure why I was bloating, GI issues, until I ended up in the ER after having Vietnamese pho beef broth soup. The ER nurse told me to get checked for allergies and confirmed it. I used to get sick with cross contamination and had to avoid eating out. I was skeptical and was given his info couple years ago until a close friend used him and told me to go. I Went to see him this past Dec and followed his regiment. I still have slight bloat and GI issues eating pork but beef, which caused severed itching, hives, swelling, bloating, - I can now eat a delicious brisket without issues. Made me feel safe going out to eat again and have family meals vs separate meals. Family was tired of mommy making chicken again.

I got bit by a tick and contracted Alpha Gal over 20 years ago in the summer of 2000 or 2001 when I was 15, this was before anyone knew what it was called here locally or even knew what to test for. I went to a local allergy specialist and got the standard skin prick test and tested positive for beef and pork as well as a slight skin reaction to shellfish. The best that allergist could do was tell me not to eat beef and pork in the same day, which obviously didn’t work. So after trial and error and several visits to the emergency room with anaphylaxis, I settled on just not eating beef, pork or shellfish at all.. This lasted for 20 years!! I found out about Dr. Nugent through an Alpha Gal Facebook group. Once I found out what I had was called I didn’t think anything about it until I heard there might be a way to eat red meat again. Then I sought out the facebook group and went to my regular doctor to get tested. My doctor had never heard of it so he had to do some research and confirm He could even test for it, which he could. I did indeed have leveled present in my blood, I think a 5 or so So it was off to see Dr Nugent.. I only had a total of two visits. The first one was for testing and needle placement and to get my oral sprays. After three weeks, I took the needles out myself and scheduled an appointment for about a week later. I went back in for testing and Dr. Nugent instructed me to start re-introducing beef and pork and very small bites and work my way up. I did that as instructed and going on almost 4 years with only one reaction in that time. The only reason I had that reaction was because I ate an absolute ton of beef for dinner one night, and I was able to hold off that reaction by taking a couple of Benadryl when I recognized the signs of a reaction coming on. Dr. Nugent was very helpful and informative! He told me it’s not actually removing the Alpha Gal disease from your bloodstream, it’s just turning off your body’s reaction response more or less. He also was very clear to manage my hopes. At the time I went, he was having about a 75 to 80% success rate. Follow his instructions to the letter and you’ll have a great chance at being able to eat mammal meat again! I have sent at least 6-7 people that I can think of his way and all of them have been successful. If you’ve read this far, don’t wait, call him now and get started! Why would I write such a long descriptive review for him for free? Because I suffered through the anxiety of wondering what was in my food every meal for 20 years and don’t want anyone else to have to deal with it if it’s not necessary!!

I have dealt with the alpha gal allergy for years and came here and got the acupuncture done and it was successful. The staff were nice and helpful. They followed up several times after the procedure to check on me and to help with the post procedure protocol. Would definitely recommend and have done so.

5 stars is not enough! 2 years ago I got diagnosed with a red meat allergy called alpha gal. My life was flipped upside down. I had to make huge adjustments that affected everything I did. Traveling and eating out without packing premade food was nearly impossible with the fear of cross contamination. Fast forward 2 years and I found these guys. They performed the acupuncture technique called SAAT on me and it worked! I had my first ribeye a few nights ago and I just ate 6 pieces of bacon and i have not reacted in any way! My friends call it voodoo witchcraft, and I don’t completely understand how it works, but bottom line is it’s the only known way to reverse alpha gal that I’m aware of and I feel immensely blessed to have found Scott and Lacey. It was a process especially because I was reactive to the metal needles and had to be treated for that beforehand. Driving from Knoxville and taking off work was an investment and to be honest I was somewhat skeptical but it paid off big time. It’s like someone flipped a switch and my life was forever changed when I was diagnosed; Scott and Lacey flipped the switch right back and life is back to “normal” again. I can’t say enough. If you know someone who has alpha gal do whatever it takes to get SAAT. I am forever grateful I found them.

**update 11/23/24. I am still eating as much red meat as I want. It is my primary protein source. I just put a half cow in my freezer and I plan on making quick work of it. It’s still blows my mind that acupuncture healed me.

I have been seeing Scott for over a year now for multiple different health issues. The main issue I started seeing Scott for was rheumatic fever, which required I receive high dose antibiotic injections every 2 weeks - and I had been doing that for the last 8 years! BACON! I was diagnosed with Alpha Gal over 5 years ago and wasn't able to eat pork and beef products anymore. The doctors had no treatment or recommendations just repeated warnings not to eat any mammal protein.
