As someone completely new to Jiu Jitsu, I couldn't have asked for a better environment to begin my journey than the American Jiu Jitsu Academy.

Coach Josh and the other students have been instrumental in creating a supportive atmosphere where I feel encouraged to learn and improve. They have a keen sense of pacing, ensuring that I am challenged enough to grow, yet never overwhelmed.

The camaraderie amongst the students adds an extra layer of enjoyment to each session. Whether it's drilling techniques or rolling on the mat, everyone is respectful and eager to help one another succeed.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking try Jiu Jitsu, regardless of their skill level.

I am so happy to have found American Jiu Jitsu Academy! Our son trained with Coach Josh for years at another facility, recently we made the choice to change gyms and I am so grateful that Coach Josh opened his own gym! Even my youngest son, who had stopped training due to overwhelming class sizes, has restarted and loves it! The training is thoughtful and the instruction is even better!

Josh is the owner and is AMAZING in teaching Ju Jitzu!! He knows how to teach and train adults but he is even better with Kids! My teen daughter said Josh has taught her so much! If you have kids, they need to learn Ju Jitzu from Josh!

Coach Josh is amazing with the kids. We love his attention to detail. He keeps the kids engaged. Coach Josh is great at reinforcing the “why” behind each technique, that makes it easy for my kids to understand. He has a high concern for safety. Always with positive reinforcement. He explains everything very well with plenty of examples. I have really appreciated the focus on skill he provides, but even more so on building sportsmanship, kindness, and respect. The class is a very positive experience for my children.
The location is great. The atmosphere is great. If you are looking for a high quality martial arts training in NWA, come to American Jiu Jitsu academy.

Josh was the coach who introduced me to my first skills in Jiu Jitsu and a big contributor to my continuation in the sport. I was nervous to start this hobby because of my lack of athleticism, but Josh is a great teacher and motivator that cares for his students, which was instrumental to keeping me coming to the gym every week, even when I felt discouraged! Coach Josh is an awesome coach, his approach to jujitsu is very technical, and is very educated about jujitsu. My partner and I have been cross training with him for a couple of years now. We’re excited that he opened a gym nearby us! I’ve been to a couple of open mats and classes since they’ve launched, the vibes are always chill and everybody is very technical. With several upper level colored belts on the mat. He’s got a gem of a spot, we’re excited to see the impact that him and the gym community that he’s developing in Rogers has on the jujitsu scene in NWA
