Alison is an excellent acupuncturist who has a good intuition about the body. She’s helped me with getting back in touch with my body and to trust my intuition. I went in with a difficult challenge and she was able to help me achieve my goals 🙂 I’m super sad I live so far from her as it’s difficult to find a real and knowledgeable acupuncturist these days. I was blessed to have walked into Eden's Apothecary in April of this year. I was warmly welcomed by Eden and had the pleasure of looking, smelling and admiring all of the wares in her store. I talked to her about a Baker's Cyst that had formed behind the knee that had been replaced over a year ago. A Baker's Cyst is a fluid filled cyst that causes a bulge and a feeling of tightness behind the knee. The pain can get worse when you fully flex or extend your knee. I was having episodes of debilitating cramps that would leave me unable to take a step and in the mornings after getting out of bed, I had to hold on to support for the first few steps.
I explained my problem to Eden and she recommended a salve by the name of St. John's Wort. After using the salve for approximately a week, I began to notice that I was no longer having the leg cramps and it was easier to walk. It has been almost a month and I can now take long walks without discomfort. At first I thought that perhaps it was all a coincidence but Eden said that I used the right thing at just the right time. I was scheduled to have the fluid from the cyst extracted by a radiologist. At this time, I no longer feel that it will be necessary. Thank you Eden for your wisdom. Your calm and positive countenance is encouraging to those in need.

As an acupuncturist and herbalist, while they don't stock a full Oriental selection of herbs, they've got a good selection, and all of good and often organic quality, at fair prices. The best place for herbs and herbal remedies in West Marin. Because they're mom and pop, they don't stay open late, so plan your visit for daylight hours.
