I originally started to explore Reiki as a means to address my physical challenges as I grew older. I decided to try it as an alternative to physical therapy and chiropractic work which had not been successful. I thought I would try one session to see what it was like. It is completely unique and quite profound, and I will not be able to adequately communicate what I experienced and the benefits gained through this exploration. Nieves is a true healer, and Reiki is a treatment to the total mind, body and spirit. I left the first session feeling more relaxed than I had in years, and the following week was quite revealing in terms of personal growth and understanding based on something that Nieves had said after the session. Last summer I had the honor to work with Nieves at Amai Welness Massage located in downtown Davis, CA. At the time I was on the cusp of a lot of change after surviving a house fire, breaking up with a partner, and attempting to get a full time job and new place to live.
