My time in the BHC apprenticeship program changed my life for the better. Beyond gaining an expansive understanding of how the body functions, how to support its systems, and how we can work with herbs to heal, I also relearned how to have a relationship with my body. I leaned into my intuition, deepened my connection with the earth, and rediscovered the natural world around me. I am incredibly grateful for the knowledgeable and experienced teachers, the kind and supportive staff, and the beautiful space they have cultivated. It’s a true gift to now be part of this amazing community.

I did the 8-month Apprenticeship program with BHC and it was exceptional. Passionate, dedicated staff with a vast knowledge of herbal medicine and holistic wellness. Beautiful space in the middle of the park, plus an herb garden in the backyard. One of very few herbal schools with an on-site clinic. Highly recommend for one-off classes/events as well as longer term study. Very grateful for BHC!

Update: The way this school is being operated has gone from bad to worst. The leadership team is insensitive, unorganized with questionable morals/ethic. There is perpetual cycling out of teachers; with the most recent announcement of an abrupt teacher leaving we were told by the main leader, that they can "empathize" with how we (students) might be feeling because when they were a student, "all their teachers left" illustrating to me, that this is a pattern within the school. Utterly disappointed and wouldn't reco, not even to an enemy b/c we all deserve quality education in a supportive environment especially when studying healing NATURAL medicine. [OG review starts here] -> This is a review of the school and not the clinic. If you are looking for a structured, supportive and curated program, sadly this school misses the mark, and at the cost, is severely overpriced. The description on the website does not map to the impact of the curriculum nor course work. It takes them months to grade and return test results; the curriculum doesn't follow the textbook assigned and the lecture material is never or rarely shared with students. I brought my concerns to the administrative stakeholders and was meant with dismissive, combative and inconsistent response.

I registered for a class, payed the fees and even received a confirmation email closer to the date of class to confirm enrollment. I drove an hour out to their Pleasant Hill location only to find a deserted campus. No one picked up the phone when I called, and I was left in total confusion.

They never bothered informing me that they had cancelled the class and didn't even refund me until I finally got in touch with someone over email to get answers.
