Five stars for CorePower Yoga, but I’d like to provide some feedback. During Elise H today’s class: about thirty minutes after we started, someone knocked loudly on the fire exit door and was let in. The person let in crossed the studio with her shoes on, retrieved a mat from the front desk, and joined the class five minutes later. She didn’t even apologize!

This was quite disruptive for everyone, including the teacher, who then forgot to complete the left side of the sequence we were practicing.

I feel the teacher could have addressed the situation differently. A gentle reminder about class etiquette, like arriving on time and being mindful of others, would have been helpful—not just for the person coming in but for the rest of us as well. In my experience, seasoned teachers like Corinne or Spencer handle such moments with more grace and guidance, reinforcing the values we practice in yoga both on and off the mat.

I’ve been working out for years and am obsessed with this type of workout. Having lived in LA, with an abundance of studios and amazing teachers, I know what a legitimate and top notch studio is. That said I do like corepower - the sculpt class is a great workout and most of the teachers I’ve had are good. However, this location, is really pushing it with the number of people they accept into a class. I’m fine with being in a full class but I’m not OK when yoga mats are literally overlapping and I can’t do the positions because either someone’s foot is going to hit my head or mine will hit someone’s. The class last night - there were so many people shoved into this room that the markers on the floor indicating where yoga mats should line up were pointless. How is that allowed? Separately, I’m not convinced the studio is properly cleaned.

I see other reviews complaining about the same so maybe the studio will consider feedback and do something about it.

In the meantime, I’ll go to the Palo Alto location during less popular times and I’ll go to the Redwood City location where there’s more room, spacing is adhered to and it’s much cleaner.

James C’s Flow class was phenomenal. He brought the energy, hype and also calm needed for a great class. I’ll be returning but most likely will aim for his morning classes. Thanks James! Highly recommend

My main complaints are that this core power studio doesn't seem very clean or like the staff take much time to make it feel like a warm, inviting place to be. When I walked in yesterday, the whole studio smelled like cigarette smoke. It was very jarring. Another issue is that the majority of the classes on the schedule are sculpt or weight lifting, not true yoga. It seems like core power is becoming more of a workout studio than a yoga studio. The class with Annika was okay. Her teaching style felt kind of chaotic, it was hard to follow the sequencing and we never repeated the sequences after doing them once, so you didn't get a chance to just to "flow." also, the music seemed like she just played an upbeat pop playlist from spotify or something. It was weird and didn't fit the zen/spiritual mood you typically expect in a yoga class. overall it feels like core power quality has gone down over time and the studios are becoming more commercialized and focused on catering to a strength training trend in the workout industry, instead of being a space for genuine yoga. This is unfortunate. I will probably finish out my current class pack and then find a different yoga studio.

Great teachers and music. To those running the show, I highly recommend reducing headcount by 10-15%. Couldn’t stretch out for my poses and got (gently) kicked in the head! Seems like a reasonable deal to have space to do the workout we are paying for, regardless of what the popularity is or the fire codes say. I hope the manager would agree.

The studio is quite cramped and tends to get overcrowded. Unfortunately, the friendliness at the front desk was lacking. Additionally, Core Power Yoga's approach feels overly commercialized, as they charge for every little thing - even renting a mat and towel when I forgot mine. The loud, poppy music further detracts from the serene, spiritual atmosphere one expects from a yoga class. Overall, this studio doesn't embody the welcoming and generous spirit that yoga is meant to foster."

First Yoga sculpt class was unfortunately mediocre :/ Coming from Dallas sadly I have high standards for good workout classes so I really thought this would be a great class. It was all over the place and upon hearing from other people the classes are incredibly repetitive. I was bored a quarter of the way in the class - I understand it’s YOGA sculpt, however, could incorporate more ab movements over jumping jacks and running in place.
