These classes are challenging and fun! Sifu Devin is highly knowledgeable about his field and more than willing to help you get better. Unlike a lot of other schools, he demystifies Kung Fu, explaining techniques from a scientific framework. Sifu Devin has behavioral skills training down! He gives concise instruction, models critical features of a drill/technique, and his philosophy of "less talk fu, more kung fu!" ensures plenty of student practice! He also provides laser-like feedback. There are social gatherings outside of class too! His school has a a family atmosphere where the goal is for all ships to rise with the tide!

I believe Devin to be proficient in both the theory and application of Wing Tsun. Not all practitioners can claim such a comprehensive understanding of this complex art form. It helps immensely to be corrected not just "because that is the way it is done...", but instead to be walked through practical scenarios and "moves" to exemplify why.

From our first interaction, I have felt that Devin is a patient instructor who knows when to push my boundaries and expand my understanding of Wing Tsun. There is much to be said for pushing oneself out of comfort zones and bad habits in learning Kung Fu. Devin is a master at precisely this type of motivation. Plus, there is nothing he will ask of me that he doesnt join in himself!

If you seek practical, hands on training with an instructor who knows the craft and makes difficult concepts enjoyable - Devin and Davis Wing Tsun are for you. (Coming from a guy who walked by my current Kung Fu studio daily for 3 years before walking in and changing my life - TAKE THAT 1ST CLASS SOONER THAN LATER!)

I've been with Devin learning Wing Tsun for the past 7 months now. I personally have a background in 2 other martial arts, so to use their techniques has been pretty instinctive for me. Devin was able to help me adapt quickly and comfortably. When new students show up, he would integrate me into their initial training, and them into mine. He is also extremely open to and even encourages practical real-life scenario "what if" questions. It's been a lot of fun for me, and is something I look forward to each week.

Dr. Harper's Wing Tsun classes are a mix of technique, practical applications, learning about body mechanics, and a bit of the cultural and historical aspects of Wing Tsun kung fu. He is excellent at engaging students' intellects and in explaining the context and purpose of exercises. Dr. Harper keeps class lively, informal, safe and fun. As a by-product, it's great exercise and helps your body become more flexible and energized. This may be the only place in the world where you can learn Kung Fu from a practicing emergency room doctor!
