We saw this place while driving and had to check it out because of the cheap tamales that were advertised from the road. I’d never had a tamale before… what an excellent first experience!! I had the pork tamales and my husband had the chicken tamales. They were both outstanding. In the store, there are many local goods for sale. We bought some garlic stuffed olives. There are also many drinks in the fridge to wet one’s whistle. The seating area outside was lovely and quiet. They had a connect four game out there too and I unfortunately lost… but it was a grand time just the same. Oh and they have an EXTREMELY clean restroom for customers only. I recommend this place! We will certainly be back next time we’re going this way.

After years of driving by Dixon Fruit Market on our way up north or back on Highway 80, we finally decided to stop and check it out. Within just a few minutes, I found myself wondering what had taken me so long!

Founded in 1975, Dixon Fruit Market is the oldest fruit market on I-80. It is family-owned and operated, and most of its products come from local farms. While we were there, several customers stopped by and started chatting with the operators, one of whom turned out to be the owner's son. One customer mentioned that they had been shopping there for many years!

Dixon Fruit Market offers a wide selection of local nuts, dried fruits, jams, butter, olives, and fresh seasonal produce. I can personally vouch for their oranges, berries, and honey! We bought a bag full of oranges, and every single one was delicious. The honey was wonderfully aromatic, and the berries... well, I ate those so quickly that I couldn't even recall the details!

Next time we visit, I plan to explore the nuts!

Nice small fruit and nut store, freshly made chicken tamales were awesome, very friendly staff, clean and clean atmosphere! They have outdoor seating which is fantastic! I can enjoy the tamales with my fur baby. Fresh watermelon is kind of small cup but it was sweet and refreshing!

Wayyy over priced stuff. Basic bottle of water is 3 dollars and regular little snacks that you can buy on the next exit for 50 percent cheaper. Most of the fruit and veggies are obviously store bought and relabled. In all honesty the store is one giant scam

What a tremendous place. I left there buying so much stuff. I got their watermelon juice. I got their flavored pistachios. When I got there it was 9 AM so I went to the breakfast tamales. So delicious. That laughing squirrel image is stuck in my head.

Since COVID I have been trying to support more local businesses that are family owned. Cooperations rule the world so I’d rather support places like this!

They are family owned and operated! They have some the the best tamales around! Fresh produce options, and omg the ice cream is SOOO GOOD!
I always stop here for pistachios on my way back to Sacramento. They have the best selection of nuts and so many flavors. The tamales sell out fast so usally around 3 or 4pm they are out on the weekdays. I got lucky on a Sunday and got me some! They have chicken, pork and jalapeño and cheese tamales, 3 for 8$ and there a decent size!!

Love this place and will always keep coming back. SUPPORT THE LOCAL BUSINESS YALL
