Equinox is a good gym, with good equipment and everything in excellent condition. I take almost all of the dance classes, because it is something I love very much. My favorite teachers, Soo Kim and Izzy Cervantes, are without a doubt the best endorphins you can find at Equinox. However, yesterday we had a problem that has been with us for a few months and even since last summer. The sound equipment and air conditioning were malfunctioning again. I am incredulous that even paying over $300 per month, this problem has not been resolved. We have at least 30 people in each dance class. I believe that the amount you receive from all of us could pay for a new air conditioning system and adequate sound for the teachers to work and for us to have a decent class without getting sick from the heat.

Today, as per the email I received, I arrived on time for the class, with a 5-minute delay because I needed to use the restroom. However, a staff member Desiree, prevented me from entering the class. I completely understand the gym's rules, which is why I did not insist on entering.

I would like to suggest that, just as you were diligent in preventing me from entering the class, the same diligence be applied to resolving the issues with the air conditioning and sound system.

I would like to thank you in advance for your attention and understanding in understanding my disappointment with Equinox.

Just had a massage with Paul at Equinox Palo Alto, and I have to say—he is absolutely incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this relaxed in my life. My muscles were so tense going in, and now I feel like I could go out and run a marathon with ease. He’s got a real gift—his technique is spot on, and you can tell he knows exactly what he’s doing.

What I really appreciated was how professional and thorough he was. He explained everything before and during the session, so I knew what to expect. He also gave me some great advice on how to maintain this feeling and take care of my muscles afterward.

Honestly, I’m struggling to keep my eyes open writing this because I’m that relaxed. If you need a massage, do yourself a favor and book with Paul. He’s amazing.

Equinox Corporate needs to intervene! This location is poorly managed, over run with theft/gangs, staff would never be hired at any other Equinox location, filthy, moldy, music is offensive, and there shouldn’t be televisions! It’s surprising that corporate hasn’t intervened over the past few years and there’s no oversight. I advise other members to call corporate. The GM & all staff need to be fired and replaced with integrity. Due to the crime/theft issues there should be private security. In short, corporate needs to get involved. Also, for a location in the midst of Google, Meta, Stanford this club is sadly in need of a renovation and more sqft after they get a new GM and membership staff. Btw reviews don’t make much difference, so I encourage everyone to call corporate directly and complain. The phone number is on the Equinox website. Hope this location gets a full makeover really soon!

I have been going to Equinox Palo Alto for last 6months and I have a PT ever since I joined. The only thing that blows my fuse is the slow/no communication by the Equinox staff. It is a brand of unprofessionalism that they all seem to wear without sorry. When you are up for a renewal, they chase you and are very responsive but as soon as you renew you next 24-48 session pack, their communication dies. It’s almost as if your emails are getting lost on Bermuda Triangle. If evryone in Equinox staff can learn professional communication etiquette, that would make this place a great workout place. I don’t need a workout place to add to my work. I just need it to work out.

Toured this gym with my mother as we are new to the area and trying to find a nice gym, there are some nice amenities however the membership is definitely overpriced. I’m sure this gym is great if you are someone who likes to take a class once a month and isn’t really committed to working out as the free weights section is very lack luster and the gym is mostly classes and cardio machines. For a Tuesday at noon gym was crowded so I can only imagine how it is at peak hours. The woman who gave us a tour was very nice but Mike is a tool, there are many better options close by and I believe signing up for a year contract here would be a decision most would regret.

Echoing other statements about vulture-like practices. Upon injury and travel, I went in to freeze my account, "no problem, with a $50 charge my monthly fee would be waived." I was charged the monthly fee, then told that it would be refunded after my 12 month commitment. Upon moving 11 months into my membership and still injured and *moving* (eligible for early cancellation), my monthly fee (back during the freeze) was not refunded after multiple contacts with the rude manager. Totally oblique and unhelpful.

I brought my MRI dated December 11 on December 19. They told me I need just a note from the doctor. During the holidays I didn’t get it and came in with MRI records on December 28th when they already charged me for January. Jon and Alon Did not refund me for January membership. They are saying it’s the policy and they cannot refund for January membership fee. What a shameful behavior of a company management.

I contacted this club in February to freeze my account and notify them I've been injured. The person at the front desk mentioned they would put a freeze and assist with reimbursement. Now, 6 MONTHS down the line, they still charge me for a "membership."... I'm not a member. Chris Ybona, the Assistant General Manager, exhibited unprofessional behavior during my interaction. He was rude, raised his voice, and even hung up on me while I was trying to ask a question. His actions clearly indicate a lack of respect for customers and a power-hungry attitude. I'm not one to write reviews, but people should be aware of how they treat people.

The Gym itself is okay. You can find cleaner and better-maintained gyms that treat you like a real person for less money.
