I LOVED everything about my time as a student at Herbalism Roots! The Curriculum is meticulously designed to give you flexibility in your pursuit of knowledge in Herbalism. No matter how experienced you are in working with plant medicine, or if you are just starting out, you will walk away with unique perspectives in Eastern, Western and Energetics of plants to continue as a life long student. Martin, Kim and Hillary bring forth so much unique and diverse knowledge to pass down. Eric has such a creative approach to Pathophysiology and aligning it with plant medicine, his knowledge will blow your mind. Clinics are a blast ! Medicine making , Glamping and meeting plants in the wild are just a few of my favorite experiences. Above all, the entire team and fellow herbalists will always hold a special place in my heart.. If you love working with plants and strive for a more holistic approach to healing yourself and others this is for you. If you need guidance in understanding contraindications of plant medicine, or identifying plants, this is for you. If you want a push into exploring your own roots in medicine this is for you. Couldn’t recommend highly enough! This is a fabulous option, whether you have a lot of experience with herbalism or are just beginning (like me). The teachers make everything fun (super important when learning new skills) and have an impressive knowledge and excitement that makes you want to just sit and listen to them talk about herbs all day. But we don’t just sit- class is a great mix of listening and creating and so thoughtfully planned so that we learn as much as possible. I have learned so much more than I would have hoped and most importantly, have learned that herbalism is incredible and will certainly be a lifelong pursuit of mine. On a personal level, I enrolled because I have a medically complex child who has a great need for herbal remedies. (Though I’ve already learned that we all have a great need for them). This program has been incredibly helpful for my family in that regard. But, more than that, it has been a very empowering experience for me. It has been amazing to be able to use my brain again and learn with such fun students and teachers after a few years living in hospitals. It’s also given me so many more tools to help ensure that my family can be out of those hospitals that we appreciate beyond words but don’t want to return to anytime soon ?
If you are considering this, I highly encourage you to enroll. It’s a life changing, incredible opportunity- and super fun.

I am so appreciative of herbalism roots! This program was amazing! Kim and Martin ( the instructors) are incredibly special and so knowledgeable. They come from a beautiful herbalist lineage and I’m happy to have been able to learn from them! I also loved being able to work at the herbalism roots apothecary to gain invaluable herbalism treatment knowledge. I’ve heard they closed it 🙁 but hopefully it’ll come back one day.

I feel like this program offered a great foundational knowledge of herbalism that I am confident as i continue learn and grown with the plants! I’d recommend this program!

I completed my course in herbalism with Herbalism Roots. They are thorough in teaching about herbs including a class in Anatomy and Physiology. They teach the science behind the herbs and tapping into the energy of them. The hands on experience makes it complete. The teachers are warm, friendly and fun. I looked forward to all of the classes, labs and field trips. Our final excursion to the mountains was magical. Herbalism Roots at DIMS is an amazing program, it literally kept me sane during covid times. Hillary, Kim and Martin are amazing and with everything going from in class learning to have everything online, they did a fantastic job. You learn alot here, from medicine making, aromatherapy, all the medicinal benefits of so many herbs to hiking and glamping weekends. I love this school and everyone in it!
