Left Coast is the best private gym in the Bay Area, I train with Coach Brent and he and the whole staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and provide a stellar workout atmosphere. The gym is clean, spacious, and full of great equipment, machines, shower, bodywork tables, and stretching areas. You can tell the owner and staff really care about the facility. 5 stars most definitely, and that’s an understatement.

Disappointed that they ignored my ask to refund my money which they didn’t make it clear. Initially they explained $30 monthly charge to use the gym was EXCLUSIVE for members with personal training lessons. (That’s only the fees to use the gym during your lessons btw.) So I assumed such charge will end along with end of my lessons. Now after 2 months in which I never stepped my feet into the gym, they ignored my ask and showed zero sympathy about my situation.

So note! make sure to end your monthly subscription even after your lessons! Even though they didn’t remind you to make their money 🙁

I've been working out on my own for a decade, and Left Coast was still able to teach me about new muscle groups and the proper way to move without injuring myself.

Adam is a very attentive owner, who does a great job explaining the gym's philosophy and approach. I went into my free consultation expecting it to be too much, or too inflexible. But after my first hour, I left excited to get help working out at my own pace and focusing on my own goals.

I've been to physical therapy multiple times for a lingering back injury. Every time, I felt like I was pushed out the door without ever addressing the core problems. But with Left Coast, we started from the ground up, specifically isolating the sources of my instability that was leading to injury. It's the first time in 5 years of having problems that I felt like I was actually getting somewhere.

In addition to the results, it was always a fun atmosphere to be in. My trainers, Adam and Sepano, were both great guys who were easy to get along with while still being extremely knowledgeable. They created engaging workout plans and always had backups or variations to adapt to my feedback.

The gym was never cramped, and always well-maintained. There weren't so many machines that it was overwhelming, but it also never felt like you were making compromises.

At the end of the day, it always felt like they were focused on helping you succeed. I thought the rates were very affordable for what I was getting, they were always flexible on scheduling if something came up, and I never felt billed on a technicality. I feel after 6 months, I'm not just fitter, but I understand better what fit is, and how I can achieve that.

I recommend Left Coast to anyone who is blocked on any type of fitness goal.

This is a state of the art facility and home to elite fitness trainers. The gym environment is friendly, clean, and impeccably organized. I’ve been going to this gym for sixth months with an initial goal to work on rehabilitating my shoulder after an injury. Not only has my shoulder mobility improved dramatically, but so has my overall physique and strength. That is due to excellent 1:1 coaching, as well as access to other specialists who work on site supporting wellness, nutrition, and health.

Jason Ducote is the best! He works as a personal trainer with my son (Top US Ranked Jr. Tennis Player) at Left Coast Fitness. Jason is all about strength/conditioning doing it the RIGHT WAY. He is super focus (with a fantastic sense of humor) on your workout regime & is not afraid to correct your position, which is necessary to prevent injuries and get the best workout. Equipment there is great (even a real rogue sled for pulling), and you don’t feel lost like in most gyms or have to wait to use any of the equipment. Even has a shower. Couldn’t be happier.

This is a great small gym with fantastic trainers, particularly Mike Shmakov, whom I've been working with (hard!) for over a year now. He's tough, creative, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Just what I need!
