Working with David Wiss was one of the most powerful experiences of my life concerning physical health. It has been about a year now since we first met and I can sit here and tell you about the weight loss I've had (which has been significant) but that is not what I got from David. What I received was much much greater and more profound. What a I truly got from David was rehabilitation from a decades long unhealthy relationship with food and body image.

David showed me how to change my thinking and relationship to how I eat and how I view my body. He taught me invaluable things about how and what to eat and when. And how to be present for my meals. He taught me about gut health which eventually solved some serious digestive problems. And he also got me off the scale. I actually finally got on one for a doctors visit and was shocked at the numbers. But the numbers don't matter, the timeline doesn’t matter - because there is no finish line I have to get to by a certain date like I used to tell myself. What matters is the psychological change that has occurred.

If you’re looking for a fad diet or crash diet you may be in the wrong place - at least that wasn’t my experience with David. We worked on finding something sustainable for me. I don’t have to restrict myself from entire food groups or any kind of extreme fasting. I get to eat all kinds of amazing foods! And most importantly I feel comfortable with eating finally and I am able to go through life without severe cravings and subsequent binges that end with shame and remorse. I am much easier on myself and can allow myself to enjoy certain foods without going through the unhealthy cycles I had in the past.

The money I spent working with Dave has paid off ten fold. Hopefully this review helps someone else to start on their own journey with Dave as I can not recommend him highly enough!

I have worked with many nutritionists over the years, and will say that the work I was able to do with David was life changing and extraordinary. Going beyond meal planning and a trajectory of weight-loss, David helped me challenge many of my old belief systems by educating me with the latest research and straight up scientific facts. David’s approach is warm and empathic yet remains direct and focused. I highly recommend David if you are ready to shift your ideas around food, nutrition and body image- and begin to live at peace with yourself.

I had known about David’s private practice and expertise for many years and followed him on social media. However, my shame and pride wouldn’t allow me to reach out for help when I desperately needed it because of the image I was trying to hold. I had been in the fitness industry and dieting for over ten years and told myself I was completely healthy ( it looked that way on the outside). Fast forward to my breaking point when I lost my menstrual cycle, I was able to hear David’s message and truths. Working with him has completely changed the way I think and live my life. I was also able to get pregnant and had the best relationship with food along the way. I always make sure to refer friends that I know are suffering to him! He’s the best in the game!

With a full-time job, it is very difficult to prioritize my eating and nutrition. I have always ate at restaurants and never learned how to prepare my own food. David made it easy for me to begin planning my snacks and before I knew it, I was trying one of his smoothie recipes. David spent a session with me going aisle-to-aisle in the grocery store and helping me feel more confident in the supermarket and in the kitchen. My blood sugar is finally stable and I have lost 15 lbs. My doctor was very happy with my new numbers!

I've been having digestion issues for over a decade and decided to seek some answers. I am so happy with my decision to go with David Wiss. He asked thoughtful questions that would have never occurred to me. He takes the time to listen, not rush through like my experience with many other health practitioners. He maintains a safe space where you truly feel how much he cares about helping his patients. That alone makes me highly recommend David to anyone seeking to take control of their health.

Nutrition plays a huge role in your life from your well being, to how you feel physically and how comfortable you are in your own skin. I've had a life long struggle in my relationship with food and David really helped in putting an end to that. I learned how certain foods affect your brain chemistry and gut bacteria while also gaining an appreciation for and accepting my body. It's not about following a certain diet or eliminating food groups but trusting your body and making the right choices based on what your body is telling you it needs. David has great energy, makes you feel comfortable and has a lot of different ideas and recipes which makes you feel like he's personally invested. My quality of life has improved and I am so grateful for David's help!

Nutrition in Recovery and David Wiss helped me achieve something which I thought was impossible for me. I have suffered from serious GERD/acid reflux disease for the better part of 10 years and got on omeprazole multiple times daily to manage my symptoms. Multiple doctors have told me over the years that it was not a good medication to be on long term, but other medications didn’t manage my symptoms and no method of getting off of it ever worked due to intense flare ups and unmanageable discomfort.

With David’s help, I was able to taper off the omeprazole while implementing some supplements and many major dietary and lifestyle changes. Today I am off all medication and supplements with nearly no symptoms, unless I disregard what I have learned about my body’s response to different foods. This was all accomplished within about 3 months and I’m more comfortable than I was when I was taking the medication, and I feel healthier and have lost weight following David’s guidance. I never truly believed in the healing power of healthy eating until now, and I’m a full on believer! You can trust David to help you achieve things in your health that you didn’t believe was possible.

Extremely grateful to David and his practice!

After two and half years of trying to manage and control my weight through various diet protocols (paleo, keto, HCG, IIFYM), I was frustrated, confused, and embarrassed. I had successfully competed in a few bikini competitions, so I thought I knew how to exercise self-discipline, count calories, and kill myself in the gym for hours to lose weight. Nothing was working, and I came to David for a complete revolution in my thinking around and approach to food. We started off really slow (cooking and eating at home more often, eating breakfast, swapping out Diet Coke for water w/ chia seeds). David encouraged me to eat more (!!) and to eat a variety of whole foods. Four months later, even more important than the weight I've lost, is the hope I have for a new a long-term sustainable relationship with food. Summer is coming up and I have no desire to kill myself with a psycho diet, diuretics, or fat burners. David is very easy to talk with; always encouraging, never critical or judgmental. I looked forward to each of our sessions. In small, incremental doses, he gave me a ton of practical, helpful information I had never before considered. I cannot recommend working with David enough!
