Radically Fit is a safer, affirming and FUN place to engage fitness. The community cultivated by the owner and trainers is supportive and tight nit, without feeling clingy or competitive. There are so many offerings for every body type and level of athletic experience. It's obvious that a lot of effort has gone into company ethos and they're gracious enough to share their knowledge / perspectives with bite sized educational bits on their socials. If you're Black, non-white, queer, trans or disabled, I highly recommend you try this gym out and experience what non-toxic fitness can feel like. Thank you Rad fit -- love you all so much!

I found the approach to fitness I was looking for at Radically Fit!!!!

I have body pain and wanted a space where I could get stronger, feel less pain through building that strength and move my body in ways that make me feel good. And I want to see all bodies celebrated! Most mainstream "fitness" culture at gyms has messaging I loath, shaming I can't stand and basically everything about it I find offensive and alienating.

Radically Fit is the only gym I've ever been involved with where I found a community supportive of folks marginalized by the mainstream fitness world. That commitment to its mission shows up in all aspects of the project: how the owner Lindsey approaches decision making, the board that advises her, how trainers are treated and how they train members, thoughtfulness in the messaging in the space, accessibility through cost, how the classes are run, everything!! Lindsey and everyone involved at RadFit are growing this amazing project with openness to learning together and building a truly supportive radical fitness space.
I love the free community workouts, I've been to the boxing classes, yoga classes, warrior workouts, and special classes like when Fat Kid Dance Party was recently held there, and loved them all!! I'm nothing but excited to see RadFit grow and build an even bigger community of folks celebrating all our different bodies, strength, movement and needs!

I'm so glad we have Radically Fit here in Oakland!!

I have been working out at Rad Fit for months now and I love it so much! There is a class for everyone. When I first started and was super new to working out, I started with the Workout 101 class on the weekend with Lina. Eventually I felt confident in my ability to move my body and started doing their other fun classes!

What I love most is that Rad Fit really shows up for Oakland's most marginalized community members (queer, trans, people of color + bigger bodied folx). There are other gyms that bill themselves as "queer friendly" but let me assure you, they are not.

Rad Fit REALLY caters to who needs access to a safe fitness space and self care the most with classes like BBQ (a strength and conditioning classes for Black and Browm queers), PHAT yoga (for bigger bodied and fat identified folx), a Queer Self Defense Workshop, A Trans / GNC Mind Body Alignment Class, Queer Boxing etc etc etc. AND I love that it's owned by a queer woman of color too <3 Come out and support! Also should mention their Community Cares program allows anyone to attend on a "pay what you can" basis. Amazing!

This gym is awesome! I've always been intimidated by gyms and exercise spaces but this place has been so good to me. I've taken classes with Emmet and they are an excellent instructor, tailoring each class according to who is there and what their preferences and abilities are. In contrast to the only other exercise environment I know (ice rinks/hockey leagues), there is absolutely no judgement or gross competitive atmosphere. Everyone in this space is encouraging of each other and there is a definite sense of comradrie.

I have never loved a gym this much! Lindsey (the owner) and all of the staff truly meet you where you're at and help you feel strong and healthy with out any shaming, comparing or other nonsense you find at other gyms. I actually have fun at the gym! It is a beautiful community of queer, trans/GNC, POC, fat bodied folx and allies. I feel grateful every day that Radically Fit exists .and thet first class is free!

The welcoming atmosphere has made it possible to reach fitness goals I never come close to otherwise. There's an emphasis on classes that really make you feel stronger and more free in your own body. Powerlifting, boxing and dance are all amazing workouts and stress relievers in these difficult times.

After 2 years of cancer treatment, I lost most of the muscle I had. I was pretty convinced the days of my enjoying exercise and building strength were behind me. Especially as a working class, Butch, woman of color who felt weak and disconnected from her new body. And then I stumbled across Lindsey and Radically Fit. I was accepted into a month long POC Personal Training program and the experience was better than I could have hoped for. The opportunity to work-out (and be trained by) folks who are primarily POC and queer has opened up my world and how I feel about my post-cancer body. My month of training is over, but I am continuing with Lindsey and have happily joined the Radically Fit community. This place is truly awesome. What these folks are doing for their community is inspiring. Walk in the door, nervous or not. You won't be sorry.
