I went in with a western medicine diagnosis of “atypical migraine syndrome” which is what the neurologist called it when she couldn’t really figure out why my head had been hurting for 6 weeks. I had never had a migraine before. The neurologist had prescribed all these medicines include a horror called Topamax which made me feel stoned (and didn’t relieve the pain!) A friend drove me to see Dr. Qian (between the pain and the meds I couldn’t drive). 4 treatments, herbs and some diet changes (no red meat, shell fish or peanut butter) - my headaches were completely gone!! And I lost some weight. Also quit taking my ADHD and anxiety meds and now do the Qi Gong meditation he teaches. His “bedside manner” takes a little getting used to but I enjoy his personality and consider the cure pretty close to miraculous. I’m glad I went to a true Chinese medical doctor instead of a chiropractor or otherwise less trained person. He is a one man show who’s been there for 20+ years and gets all his business by referral and you won’t wait to see him. It’s a completely different experience than traditional Western medicine.
