The wait in the ER is always rough. But, once admitted, the experience gets better. The nurses are always caring and professional. The doctors are attentive and get things done. Definitely my favorite hospital in Philly.

Today my son went to the hospital he was there by 12:15pm he was seen through intake and had to wait about 4-5hrs to get called in the back to actually get seen after mentioning he can't breathe or swallow. I literally had to call and ask what in the entire world is going on. He mentioned they weren't crowded. When I spoke with someone in Intake I was told it's no rooms in the back. This is ridiculous, it feels like someone will literally die waiting to be seen. Too many of the Dr's and Nurses are just walking and socializing and laughing from personal conversations instead of helping. My son cant swallow throat in pain and swollen to the point he couldn't hold his head up and also with continuous drooling. He is still there and it is now 7:45p he's waiting on discharge papers yet his total time there has been 7hrs and 30 mins which will be longer until he gets the discharge papers this is by far utterly sad and ridiculous!

GM. Everyone I encountered AFTER my initial experience with Diamond at the front desk, was absolutely amazing. Diamond never greeted me, never made eye contact, and was just plain RUDE.Just the experience with her ALMOST made me decide to NEVER go to that facility again. I've reconsidered, and realize that ONE BAD APPLE, does not spoil the whole bunch. I will be returning for my next visit. Have a GREAT day.

In a city full of fine hospitals, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere but Temple University Hospital. Every staff member I’ve interacted with, at every step of every process I’ve been through, has demonstrated a sincere interest in and commitment to my health, comfort, and satisfaction. From annual checkups, to a dislocated arm, to a colonoscopy, to chemo therapy, I have confidence in every team member I have contact with. The posters in public spaces say that their employees ask my name and birthdate often “because they care,” but their caring is demonstrated in their every word and action, not just in asking me to verify my identity.

I am going to rate 5 star, I got to say, I don’t visit the ER much, which I truly believe all ERs are about the same, depending on the time of arrival, the wait can be extremely long, Temple main is a trauma center, the location can be over the top with gun shots, motor vehicle accidents and crime. If anyone wants to be seen right away, there are Urgent Care Centers all over this City, the wait is not long at all and if you pay a co-pay, it may be cheaper than a ER visit. Also the specialty’s of Doctors at Temple Health are awesome-Lung, GI, Cardiology. Pulmonary, etc-great caring Professional staff at different locations. Frontline staff - Need better training in Customer Service-especially in welcoming patients and tone down on personal conversations around visitors and patients. This can be any hospitals with same unwelcoming behavior! One bad apple can spoil it for all. I will not rate any hospital unfairly. I believe training Security, Registration and Nurses in Triage duty by Welcoming, explaining the wait to patients helps ease the stress of the wait.

I personally don’t even think this place should get a star at all. I was in excruciating pain. I told the doctor it was a kidney stone because I’ve had one before they sent me home with this paper saying it was a muscle spasm. I went to the other temple. They didn’t see me for five hours then finally I wanted a third opinion because I knew something was wrong with me. I went to Nazareth and took care of me in 20 min first they did they did an ultrasound,CAT scan, bloodwork they did everything that they had to do till I found out that I have a kidney stone. I should sue them for misdiagnosis. I was in excruciating pain for 3 more days till I got to Nazareth. They need new doctors!! The absolute worst hospital I’ve ever went to my whole life!! All Temples need to get demolished!

I drove to Temple ER like a bat out of he'll because there were no medic units available to come to my aid. To save my life what appeared to be a heart attack or blood clots in my chest I drove myself. They took me right away. I was informed I has many blood clots in my chest n I needed surgery ASAP. Waiting in extreme pain for several docs to see for immediate surgery a shooting victim came in and all hands on deck for that. Now 6 hours go by with no meds and not seen one doctor I finally got 10mg of pain meds. Another 4 hours go by and I ask when will I see the surgeons etc.. they came back 2 hours later and said they went home their shift was up and so was the ER doctor and they don't know who I am or why I'm there a hour late I was told. I asked for a wheel chair so i could get to my vehicle and they said no. When I tried to leave the entire building locked up and I had to walk 4 blocks around the building to get to.my car. I didn't sleep for I had a scheduled appointment with a doctor. He saw the condition I was in and made one phone call and I was seen at another hospital. I didn't have a heart attack and I didn't have blood clots in my chest it was scar tissue from blood thinner injections that moved and the IVC filter that was scaring up and in improperly . I had it emergency removed the following day by a phone call made on the DL. I felt hugely better. Maybe I'm extremely lucky they forgot about me in the ER and the doctors went home because their shift was up or something bad could've happened to me. Oh, and they billed me for equipment in the er bay (heart monitor) that didn't even work and they had no blankets or pillows either can you believe it and they billed for all kinds of stuff and didn't see me and forgot all about me.
P.S. Important..I was scheduled to have emergency surgery in a week and a half. Recieved phone call at night that it was canceled because I smoke cigarettes. Yup, my doctor abandoned me for the hospital policy is no surgery if you smoke. Than why didn't they say that when I wait 9 month for a appt., office visit after office visit, blood work, films n it's mri's, classes, buying medical equipment for after surgery, extra food for after surgery because I wouldn't be able to get out, and hiring a few people to help me and so on. I'll lose a job I applied for to and much more and most importantly my quality of life in many many ways and the pain all because I smoke. Don't schedule a appoint if you think you'll need surgery cause they'll bill you and your insurance and do all I did to at great cost than get canceled be case you smoke right before

So I have multiple doctors in this hospital for multiple issues but now am considering changing. I have about 6 specialist . I have one that says I need surgery, one that says I don’t .One that says I need injections ,one that says I shouldn’t get injections . When I told Pain management injections weren’t working she asked then why was I there? I told her I wanted to try something different and she denied me . I have multiple things going on and seems like these Doctors pick and chose what they want to acknowledge they don’t even communicate with each other I have to call my Primary doctor before I take any prescription because she had caught medication that can’t be combined . Also I have had two of the same test done and they both came back the same and the doctor said disregard it, it’s false
