Earlier this year I started working out at The Strength Shoppe because I have a family history of osteoporosis and I knew I had to work on building muscle and bone mass before menopause occurs. I was referred here by a friend who knew how busy I was and told me that this was a workout that even I had time to do- just 20 minutes per week!

I had no idea that lifting weights would not only help me get stronger, but it also helped get rid of my chronic back pain which I had previously chalked up to simply being in my 40s, or sleeping on a bad mattress (or both!) Turns out that when you strengthen your core and back muscles, the pain from straining your weak back goes away!

Also want to shout out to my amazing trainer Karla- Thanks for making me stronger and for always being so encouraging and positive!

A few months ago we Noticed a flyer in our local bakery for "The Strength Shoppe". We initially dismissed it out of hand but since my wife and I were both dealing with disparate back issues we thought that it might warrant a closer look. We both had been fairly physically active over the years and were frustrated that is spite of that were we falling into a pattern of aches and limitations commensurate with getting older. My wife had spine surgery earlier this year and I had a hip replaced a few years back.
We both decided to give it a go and loved the experience at once. For me it was fun to revisit the cathartic pleasures of weight training in a safe proscribed routine that let me give it my all with out any strain and duress on my body. Usually when I lifted weights or did anything strenuous when I was younger, I always expected a 24 hour "wake up call" when my body would racked by aches and pain. There was absolutely none of that and to the contrary I found myself looking forward to my brisk weekly 20min sessions where I felt supported, encouraged and free to let loose.
More than my years of chiropractic treatment, physical training, home isometrics and stretching, I by far noticed more robust sustainable improvement by going to "The Strength Shoppe". In a few months time I honestly have felt a real transformation. I had always wanted to give personal training a try and both my wife and myself couldn't be happier with the results.

I have been a Strength Shoppe client for more than 10 years. As a result, even though I have acute osteoporosis, I entered my 60s much much stronger than I entered my 50s, and I continue to make gains. I can spend a day cleaning out a closet or the garage - bending, lifting, climbing, reaching - and be pain free the next day. All of Melinda’s trainers are focused, conscientious professionals and great human beings. I highly recommend The Strength Shoppe.

I am older. I have injuries. I mostly want to do things I enjoy. Strength training was not on my list, until now. I look forward to my weekly visits to The Strength Shop.

The trainers I have worked with all paid close attention to my alignment, my abilities and are both respectful and kind.

The administration and business model are terrific, with almost no turnaround time when a response is required.

I truly love this place, an added bonus is the perfectly comfortable and clean .environment

I've been with the Strength Shoppe team- Dustin, Gabrielle, Melinda, Alyssa and other wonderful trainers- for over 7 months and I've been very happy with the high efficiency workouts (only 20 min. a week) and my results during this time in gaining overall strength.

What I've loved most is that I do not get cramps and sore muscles after the workout. That was what prevented me from taking on strength training as a regular habit. Strength Shoppe is evidence-based training with precise logs of the workouts and progress. I'm very grateful for the personalized and very kind attention I get during the training as well as the flexibility to adapt to any condition such as temporary injury in a certain area. Looking forward to my next session!

The Strength Shoppe has been life altering for me. I'm 50+ and in better physical condition than any time in my life since I was a teenager running track 5 days a week.

I've been going routinely for over 3 years now and in that time I've worked with the majority of the Strength Shoppe's staff. Everyone there is highly knowledgeable and highly effective.

If you want to spend just 20 minutes a week and be in the best physical condition of your adult life, there's no better place to go.

The Strength Shoppe workout is everything I was hoping for! After 20+ years of osteoporosis, 2 rounds of medication and many hours of trying different exercises, Gabrielle knows exactly the best workout for improving my muscle strength and bone density. Plus it fits perfectly into my busy schedule at only 20 minutes per week.
I’m the strongest I’ve been in years and look forward to my T-scores continuing to improve!
