Everyone at The Sword is very welcoming. The owner and head Coach, Chris, is the best in the state hands down. Many higher belts have been here for years. I'm very happy to have found my BJJ family here and my education here so far has been thorough and amazing. All the coaches here really care about their students on and off the mats. I visited multiple gyms trying to find a good fit for my boys and I and finally found it. Great instructor who truly cares about his students and teaches both real world self defense as well as competition BJJ. My 7 and 10 year have gained more fitness, discipline, and confidence. Excellent group of students in the kids and adult classes who are super welcoming and helpful.

We're lucky to have such a high class BJJ academy in Eagle River. Professor Chris' concepts and teaching style keep kids and adults engaged and wanting more. Speaking from experience, if you want your kids be able to work through adversity and learn resiliency, this is a fantastic discipline/sport to get involved in. If you're an adult that wants to get in shape, learn legit self defense, want to compete, or have been out and want to start back up, you won't regret coming here.
