It's a great gym ,,but I feel like the 24 hour access should have the showers available coming out at work at 11 u want to work out and shower before you head out I think that's a good idea to include the showers in all the toadal gyms

I feel we are constantly having billing issues with this location (used to be soquel members and it was the same thing).
Signed up early, the price changed, then they opened and had no bathrooms,or showers or pool but yet we were still being charged for that. Then everything finally opened and worked then they charged a "improvement fee"! Improvement fee for what?! There was no damn water! Gyms are very tricky with contracts do your research and may not be worth the hassle.

First the good. The staff is very friendly and welcoming but that's about it.

1) I agree with the person who posted about being charged in full when there was no locker rooms/showers/pool. We should not have been charged full price until everything was FULLY complete.

2)The remodel/layout/amenities are terrible. I feel like I was sold on a new-ish clean gym and that's not what I received. The painting is subpar. There are places with only primer and paint drips are everywhere. There are cracked mirrors, missing and dirty ceiling tiles, only one of the 3 upstairs fans worked, and the one that did work was caked in dust. If your on the second floor you can see the entrance light and that is also caked in dust. The women's locker room looks very dated and there is only one toilet. The trash can in the women's toilet is not covered and can get disgusting with pads, etc.

3) The overall cleanliness is horrible. Beside the caked on dust on the fans/ light fixtures I mentioned above, the machines don't ever seem to be cleaned besides the members wiping down after use. The upstairs and downstairs machine bottoms are full of hair, dust, black spots. Why isn't there a cleaning crew to thoroughly clean at least once a month? Sometimes there is dirt on the floor behind the treadmills and its there for days. The mats in the stretching room are black and cracked.I think the floor of the stretching room barely gets vacuumed let alone mopped. There are shoe prints that have been in the same place on the floor for months (even before the rain started). There is sand and hair everywhere. I stopped going to all Yoga/Pilates classes because doing floor exercises with hair in my face made me want to vomit. During one class the chunk of hair was so large I used on of the brown towels to scoop it up.

3) Everything is so inconsistent. During summer the upstairs equipment space gets extremely hot yet they never turn the fans on. There was one working fan that I would turn on when I got there (yes the fan with the caked on dust). They finally got portable fans but they kept disappearing or being moved. First there were 2 fans, then one. The is a giant fan in the room but it was only on once and never again. Sometimes you show up and the lights are off in the rooms, sometimes they are on. Sometimes the lights are off in the downstairs weight rooms sometimes they are on. Same with the downstairs ceiling fans. Sometimes there are paper towels in the locker rooms, sometimes no towels, sometimes the brown towels? Speaking of the brown towels, I understand they are eco friendly but I wish they would implement a system where you pick up your own wipe down towel when you arrive and return it to a dirty clothes bin when you leave. The towels get sopping wet and its disgusting to touch. I also hate that I constantly have to search for cleaning bottles. Cant they do what Gold's does and make several sanitation stations around the gym to everything is kept and returned to one place?

I thought that being a locally owned gym with other great reviews would make this location a cut above but if things don't improve by the end of my contract I will definitely be moving on.
