Better selection than planet fitness. I wish the sauna was hot and the steam room worked. Also the bathroom/locker room ALWAYS smells like pooo. GROSS. An air freshener or something would be nice…

Update: they fixed the sauna!! It’s hot! Feels great. Still no steam room.

This gym is just ok. If it weren't for the convenient location I would probably cancel. The culture there is just kinda bad. I've met one or two cool people, but majority of people don't rerack their weights, so get used to not finding the set of dumbbells you need on the rack. I noticed more than my fair share of people not cleaning the equipment as well. It's also consistently warm in the gym, they really need to fix, or upgrade the AC. On the positive though, the equipment is decent, and I don't normally have to wait for the machine I need. Overall I would give it a 3 out of 5, not terrible, but definitely room for improvement.

I have been a member of Valley fitness since they took ownership, I was a member of the previous owners as well. Overall I would say this gym has trended towards a positive direction under Valley Fitness and there staff is motivated and welcoming. The equipment is maintained properly and frequently, I let them know one day one of their machines was not locking properly and the next day it was resolved. I have not used the showers but from what I have seen they look clean. Downstairs consists of a circuit area, quiet enlcosed aerobics area, group area as well as a section with squat racks, deadlift pads and other various leg equipment. Upstairs is the larger workout area which has all types of equipment for every muscle group, it also has all of the cardio equipment. Another plus for those who need it is there is an elevator, I recommend pushing yourself to take the stairs but if needed it's there. I have not tried the new amemities yet but look forward to trying them out, they consist of cold plung and a massage chair. Overall I recommend this gym for its clean environment and good vibes.

Love the equipment, layout and the staff. Only gripes about this place is that the A/C on the second floor is non-existent. They have fans placed in certain spots to help but it doesn't do the job. Another thing is that they keep the front door open which attracts mosquitos, my wife is allergic to them and she gets welts if she gets bitten. Other than these things, this place is great. Way better than In-shape and PF.

Not enough incremental weights, not enough plates. Very cramped upstairs with way to many training and group rooms downstairs that just go unused. Very expensive compared to other options in the area. Terrible music. Staff that just stands arounds and socializes or sits on thier phones while ignoring all the customers. This place was a million times better when it was owned by fit republic.

Great Gym. Crew keeps it clean, especially the morning gals during the weekdays. Ever think of selling your “Valley Fitness Bear” logo on shirts ?

I cancelled my membership in May…and was told I would still have to pay June. Which was fine. But then I still got charged in July. So I have called a few times to check on my refund. Almost 2 months later am told they can’t give me one because there is no proof of my cancellation. If you ever want to cancel there make sure it actually happens and is recorded.

The best gym in Modesto. The equipment is clean and well-maintained. It tends to get crowded during peak hours, but most gyms do. I like that there is a separate area for leg workouts on the first floor. Cardio and upper body workout equipment upstairs.
My one criticism is that there's only one water fountain in the building.
