I have been a client of Marcia's for quite sometime and have found her to be very helpful in working with my eating disorder. She can be strict at times but that is because she is aware of how devious the disease can be. She challenges the anorexia while continuing to always be considerate, kind and sensitive to my fears. She always offers an explanation of why she wants me to try things while at the same time allowing me to have input. I have referred her to friends, and use her as a referral source often. I have the the utmost respect for her as a practitioner and highly recommend her as a dietitian for all types of eating issues.

I've had an eating disorder for over 30 years and have worked with plenty of people who don't understand the frustration, sadness and shame that go along with emotional eating. I went to see Marcia when I was battling a pretty mild case of anorexia/binging. Let me tell you--those were some of the worst experiences I've ever had with someone in the nutrition business. She never listened to anything I had to say, treating me as if I had been brainwashed by thinspo tumblr accounts and ads of Kate Moss. She told me the same thing, over and over again, which was to eat, eat, eat. She was totally uninterested in mutual participation, which meant every half hour with her was a flawed lecture on basic nutrition and diet. Basically everything she told me was either (1) something I already knew or (2) just wrong. She was telling to eat two full bowls of cereal a day because I "exercised a lot" (I'm sorry, but 30 mins of cardio is NOT going to offset two bowls of grape nuts for me!) It's like she wasn't even keeping in mind the fact that I had a binging problem. She totally ignored that. So please, if you want someone who can really help you, do NOT see this dietician.
